‘Library Glass Warp’

Library Glass Warp‘-2011, 20″ x 29.75″

Vancouver’s main library looks like a modern version of the Roman Coliseum. Of course, it’s surrounded by beautiful glass buildings, so I just decided to wrap them around it. The Library is also circular, so I stayed with the circular theme. This was a winter project. As usual; there was no snow… lucky to be living in “Lotus Land”!

“West Hastings’

‘West Hastings’-2017, 45″x75″
I actually shot the components for this piece in November, 2016. After a record number of rainy days this winter; I finally got around to working with it.

This park is little Refuge from The Towers. I find the Towers both beautiful and menacing. They’re efficient on one level and wasteful on another.

There’s no denying their beauty though…

‘New Metal Dream’ is the latest in my METALWORX series.
There’s not much to say about this; you either like it… or you don’t.
“It’s my dream, so I like it anyways!”

‘Metal Mountain’ is the latest in my MetalWorx Series. Having lived for many years in Calgary, the natural version of this scene was visible out my living room window. I never try to compete with Nature, but rather draw inspiration from her… Is it ironic to mimic Nature with totally fabricated man-made materials? Yes and No…

‘New Metal Saucer’ is another in my ongoing “MetalWorx Series”. I’ve moved from wood to metal this week… I find moving back and forth between “Works of Man” and “Works of Nature” keeps me sharper than staying in one spot. This is about as far away from my Rain Forest work, as I can get in one week. I don’t know where this is going, but it’s somewhere in the Future…

‘Senate Study #4’ is an image in my Parliament Hill Series. The beauty and historical significance of this Chamber moved me. In fact, the three major buildings of Canada’s ‘Parliament Hill’ will be the subject of my upcoming book, titled “The Hill”. The Senate Series, like the others, is a look at the physical structure and an appreciation of the architecture and workmanship in these heritage buildings. My contribution to this effort, is to offer a different perspective on these very often photographed subjects.

‘UNTITLED 01/2015’ is the 2nd exploration in my new ‘MetalWorx Series‘. I like the minimalism of a metallic surface. This all starts with camera capture of multiple surfaces. I’ll explore the shape and directionality of light, I can create in these ‘Altered Geometries‘. This is experimental and great fun for me. If you like it… let me know and spread it around. If you HATE IT….SORRY, it’s continuing anyways! LOL
